“Precious Joubert is sending out an S.O.S. on her new single "Connect." Like many of us who've retreated from public life in 2020 thanks to a certain ongoing global pandemic, Joubert is feeling disconnected from everything and everyone and downright despondent. "I need to connect, yeah / The sky is falling right on my head," she laments on the chorus, pouring her feelings into her lyrics to let listeners know that the isolation struggle is real. The moody lyrics are offset by instrumentation provided by guitar, synths and a drum machine that sounds straight out of 1980's Minneapolis that would get Prince's purple stamp of approval. (P would definitely dig the guitar solo on the bridge.)

Joubert released the single simultaneously with a music video that is very on-trend. Although Precious is in a bit of a mood on "Connect," she lifts her spirits on TikTok and turns her frown upside down as she seemingly tries out every single filter on the app. The entire visual consists of Precious singing into the camera while changing faces, hairstyles, outfits, backgrounds and more.
